About This Opportunity

The Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Legal Adventure is a free, one-week program that introduces Northeast Ohio high school students to careers in law. Students learn from local attorneys, judges, and law professors while exploring the legal profession through interactive activities, law school experiences, discussions, and mentorship.

What You’ll Experience

Students will participate in simulated law school classes, visit local law schools, meet lawyers and judges, take part in panel discussions, build advocacy and leadership skills, and learn about different legal careers. The program gives students an opportunity to experience what studying and working in law can be like.

Who Can Apply

High school students in grades 9, 10, 11.

Requirements

Open to current 9th–11th grade high school students in Northeast Ohio who are interested in learning about law and the legal profession. Students must submit an application. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with priority given to applications submitted by May 18.

About the Organization

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) is a professional organization that serves the legal community in Greater Cleveland. It brings together attorneys, judges, law students, paralegals, and other professionals while promoting legal education, professionalism, community service, and access to justice. CMBA also provides programs for students and the community, including youth legal education, career development opportunities, volunteer programs, and initiatives that connect people with the legal profession.

This is a tuition-free program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with placement priority given to students who apply by May 18. Participants may reapply in future years while they remain eligible.
